Ceremony Commemorating the "School Environment Greening Model Project" at Aisaki Gakuen

On Thursday, November 13, 2025, a ceremony was held at Aisaki Gakuen in Kizugawa City to commemorate the completion of the “School Environment Greening Model Project,” an initiative led by the National Land Afforestation Promotion Organization.

Since 2006, this project has been a core part of the social contribution activities of Lawson, Inc., fueled by the “Lawson Green Fund” from in-store donation boxes across Japan. In Kyoto Prefecture, the Kyoto Model Forest Association (KMFA) serves as the administrative window for this initiative. The project at Aizaki Gakuen marks the 28th greening initiative facilitated for schools and childcare facilities within the prefecture.

The ceremony was attended by several local stakeholders and featured a heartwarming performance of gratitude, including songs and dances by the school’s five-year-old students. Following the performances, commemorative trees such as Kousa Dogwood (Cornus kousa / Yamaboushi) and Kumquat (Citrus japonica / Kinkan) were planted. This event not only celebrated the new greenery but also honored the school’s long-standing dedication to nurturing a vibrant, natural environment for its students.
