Kyoto Model Forest Association
The Kyoto Model Forest Association was the first organization in Japan to launch activities to strengthen the forest based on the Model Forest Movement proposed by Canada. At the time, the official participants in the International Model Forest Network were 18 countries and 39 regions (prior to participation by Kyoto). Kyoto now has officially joined the International Model Forest Network. Participation in the International Model Forest Network will provide international appeal to the activities to strengthen the forests of Kyoto and provide a means of enlarging and expanding the Kyoto Model Forest Movement through the exchange of information with other countries.
