On November 6, 2025, 38 students from Shinomura Kindergarten in Shino-cho, Kameoka City, participated in a “Forest Delivery Lesson” at Shimin-no-mori Nagaoyama, guided by members of the Shimin-no-mori Nagaoyama community group.
After an introductory talk about the forest, the children set off to explore Nagaoyama. Along the trails, instructors introduced them to various wild plants, mushrooms, and uniquely shaped leaves, which the students observed with great curiosity. The children also took part in activities unique to the forest, such as crafting spinning tops and balancing toys (Yajirobe) from acorns, watching a log-cutting demonstration, and taking in the fresh aroma of the wood.
These “Forest Delivery Lessons” are made possible through the “Green Fund” contributions received from the public. We invite you to continue supporting this initiative to help us provide meaningful environmental education for children.
