On October 30, 2025, 58 five-year-old children from Migiwa Nursery School in Kyoto City participated in a “Forest Delivery Lesson” at Shimin-no-mori Nagaoyama in Kameoka City, guided by members of the Shimin-no-mori Nagaoyama community group.
The children worked together to hike up to the observation deck, exploring the nature-rich trails of Nagaoyama. Along the way, they discovered ripening Akebia (Akebia quinata) fruits. The children listened with great curiosity and sparkling eyes as the instructors explained the unique characteristics of the forest’s fruits and vines.
After their hike, the group enjoyed various games using acorns. It was a joyful day filled with laughter, providing the children with a precious opportunity to connect deeply with the blessings of the forest.
These “Forest Delivery Lessons” are made possible through the “Green Fund” contributions received from the public. We invite you to continue supporting this initiative to help us provide environmental education for the next generation.
